about

I really like this album, it has a retro style that does not sound too old.
The songs have a great sense of fun, sarcasm, angst and fun mixed into each of the numbers and it works really well as a group of songs.
Each one at the very least held my attention and some made me laugh for all the wrong reasons.
l the songs proved to be amazing and it is a wonder piece of Power Pop that will make a dark piece of sunshine appear in your heart. - All The Time I Was Listening (U.K.)

There are no guest stars this time around - Mazzola has worked with the likes of Eric Dover and Muddy Stardust on Baby Scream material in the past - just cultured songwriting and more seductive hooks and melodies than one man should ever be in possession of. Any songwriters out there struggling for ideas will be fashioning a Juan Pablo voodoo doll as I type.
'Fan, Fan, Fan' contains a dozen original tracks and while Mazzola claims to have experimented with more classic rock and ballad-like sonics, the gorgeous Baby Scream power pop sound conquers all. There's an alt. pop aesthetic to a lot of the tracks - think Teenage Fanclub - but the usual Bolan/Jellyfish/Beatles/Redd Kross influences are more than prevalent. - Uberrock (U.K.)

Juan Pablo Mazzola is so full of music that his latest release is a two-for-one, two-album package bursting with melody and harmony-drenched, classic pop songs. To our ears, Juan sounds a bit like Marc Bolan fronting Badfinger - Pure Pop Radio (U.S.A)

Short and sweet angry songs, that's what Fan, Fan, Fan is about. Mazzola is a loner on this one, at odds with the world who can't get over the fact that people are being stupid. A lot of the songs were written while he was living in Germany. Although he was welcomed he never quite fit in and felt homesick. "I am a loner, I am a loser, everything is fucked up in my world // No one loves me, no one cares, no one gives a fuck about my words". Odds are that he is the protagonist in the orchestrated neo-glam rocker A Human Being On Mars.
Mazzola paints a bleask picture. By contrast the songs are wrapped in technicolor neo-psychedelica. - Here Comes The Flood (The Netherlands)

Juan Pablo Mazolla, our favorite South American power popper, returns with an all-new collection of tunes that are a must if you've enjoyed his music before. This time around, he takes a more sardonic look at the world to accompany his always melodic sound. So we come to learn that "Everybody Sucks", he's "Back to Douche" and of course "Haters Will Hate". All three of these tracks are catchy of course, and he channels the spirit (if not the sound) of Beck in the raved-up "Loner". And the standout track here is the majestic "Human Being on Mars", a midtempo marvel that encapsulates his Lennon-esque sound - Absolute Powerpop (U.S.A)

Juan Pablo’s Lennonesque vocals combined with his crunchy pop guitars and pissed off lyrics make a great combination here. “Everybody Sucks” is a solid angry rant followed by the slow burning “Back To Douche” and the rocking “Loner” are a perfect 3 punch combo of angst and regret. These songs all clock in under 3 minutes each (except “The Girl Next Next Door”). He paints a lonely picture on the dense “A Human Being On Mars” and the catchy riffs are all over the aptly named “Captain Hook” with a satisfying solo between the chorus. Even though it slows down a little midway through it still delivers greatness on the ballads “Haters Will Hate” and “Just For A While.” Juan Pablo has a biting sense of humor on “The Kitty Song” where he speaks in the voice of the biggest a-hole cat ever. The smart curation of these songs from the recording session make this my favorite Baby Scream album to date. It’s so good, it gets my first nomination for best album of 2015! Don’t miss this one. - Powerpopaholic (U.S.A)
