about

"Baby Scream's 'Identity Theft' EP has a psychedelic Lennon bent that will please pop fans everywhere". - David Bash
Founder/CEO: The International Pop Overthrow Festival. www.internationalpopooverthrow.com

Anifty little EP that's the most Lennonesque thing this side of Future Clouds and Radar. Early line favorite of Top EP of 2010. - Absolutepowerpop (U.S.A.)

"Identity Theft" focuses on the more stripped down, acoustic side of Baby Scream. Mazzola's influences come out front and center: there is clear love for John Lennon, Teenage Fanclub, Radiohead, and Britpop. "Identity Theft" is a pretty easygoing affair. They are short and sweet songs.
Mazzola's voice is capable, and his breathy delivery works well against the acoustic guitars and other sparse instrumentation. I recommend Baby Scream if you enjoy Julian Lennon, Michael Penn, or the acoustic side of Teenage Fanclub. - Bill's Music Forum (U.S.A.)

"Identity theft" is a pop diamond. Seven melodic and sensitive pop songs, with fine acoustic guitar, organ on the background and amazing vocals, that bring in my mind something from the 60’s flame of psychedelic Lennon and Bob Dylan. My fave songs “Dead woman walking” with the darkness lyrics about loveless life. “Nicole” and the English version of the romantic “Ojos Orientales”. Comes with an ultra ultrapsychedelic cover art. It’s worth to search for it! - Lost In Tyme Magazine (Greece)

"Identity Theft" was mostly recorded in Los Angeles and despite the album title, the first song "Be" sets the tone: "be yourself and no one else". There's often an early Bowie influence or a T-REX feel ("Underground Blues") in these short and mostly soft pop songs but they always remain BABY SCREAM songs in the end. No cheap imitation here.
BABY SCREAM is one more proof that you can always feel when things are done with passion and dedication. - Laurent - Veglam Webzine (France)

Juan Mazzola is a talented Argentinean songwriter with a fixation but also a clear love for Lennon. Definitely one for the Lennon fans, just as a curiosity. There’s no denying Juan Mazzola is a decent chap and his determination and resilience might surely see some type of breakthrough. As long as he steers clear of the buttons on the recording studio mixing desk with John Lennon on Imagine, John Lennon on Walls and Bridges and John Lennon on Double Fantasy he’ll be fine. - Charlie Brown - The Music Critic (U.K.)

Juan Pablo Mazzola amazes the hell out of me. Seriously, his albums just get better and better. Juan might have been in a dark mood, he brings that darkness out in the ways of the Beatles and early Rod Stewart, which is a different kind of “dark” and not depressing in the slightest. - Carl Isonhart - Sonic Ruin Magazine (U.S.A.)

This extended EP sounds like a continuation of “Double Fantasy” and its posthumously released sequel “Milk and Honey” and with the inclusion of the little known Lennon cover “Mucho Mungo/Mt. Elga” which Lennon wrote with his long time buddy Harry Nilsson as the final track, any uncertainty of the connection must evaporate. In the tracks of this EP we find, a man at peace with his talents and his ability to contribute to the world of music. The mini album seems to take us on a pathway from darkness to light. Maybe it mirrors the experiences in music of Juan Pablo Mazzola, from angst and longing to arrival and happiness? - Andrew Smith - andrewsmithlifecoach. (U.K.)

Baby Scream come out of Argentina carrying a message for us all - especially us old jaded hippies in the UK & The USA. The message is that there is hope after all - all that we thought we were heading for way back when we was young is not lost forever - it's only sleeping. Here's our chance to re-awaken it. Thank you Baby Scream for the very timely reminder that we are still on the magical mystery tour.
Pepperland is still out there if we really want it. - Abi Rhodes (U.K.)
